Maryandbird is a production company that specialises in the recording of classical music, either on location or within Maryandbird’s resident recording space in London. Created in response to the many musicians desiring simple, hi-fi, stereo recordings, either for professional, promotional or archival purposes, Maryandbird provides a cost effective alternative.

Erik Satie - Les Trois Gymnopédies, Vexations
A conceptual recording of Eric Satie’s Vexations, recorded for the length of a 30 min 1/4 inch tape at 15 IPS. The tape was later treated, causing the signal to gradually tire, fade and ultimately disappear when the tape eventually spins off. The production serves as a metaphor, reflecting the sense of ennui and fatigue Satie wanted both performer and listener to endure. Piano by Irma Cehic.
